Jillian Teskey
Jillian Teskey is a trained dancer from Essex, Ontario Canada who has dedicated her life to this art. Since the age of 3, Jillian has been taking many classes at Nancy Pattison’s Dance World in Canada and at the age of 8, she began competing as part of the Essex County Dancers Incorporated and taking classes across the United States and Canada. While travelling, Jillian quickly came to the conclusion that the opportunities in the United States were the ones she wanted to pursue. Dedicated to her art form, Jillian can always be found training under some of her favorite choreographers that include Jessica Starr, Nico O’Connor, Alexander Chung, Cat Cogliandro, Ashley Gonzales and Nathan Trasoras etc. Jillian is convinced that her travelling early on in her dance career and the experiences of the recent past have definitely made her into the person and dancer that she is today.
Jillian has been afforded an incredible amount of amazing opportunities that would not have been possible in her small home town. She was also able to be a part of many performances along the way. Some of these performances include the Choreographers Carnival Los Angeles, Club Jete, the Industry Dance Awards, APAP NYC, the VANS US Surf Open and Michelle Obama’s 100th Anniversary of Burbank Show. Jillian also appeared in the viral PSA ‘953K – Inspiring Action Against Cyberbullying’, a Warner Bros. Hype Crew performance and as the assistant choreographer for Reebok Spring/Summer Collection Industrial. Last but not least, Jillian can be seen dancing on Season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance Canada as part of the top 170 dancers.
For the last 2 years, Jillian has been a principal member of LA based non-profit dance company, MusEffect. She has performed the full company stage show entitled The Divine Direction as well as various dance industry performances and events giving back to the community. Jillian also loves teaching and choreographing and believes that it is incredibly rewarding to pass on all of her new knowledge and experiences. Some of Jillian’s choreography credits include the Essex County Dancers Incorporated and the Encore Performing Arts Company. Jillian strives to inspire young dancers to achieve their potential and offer them the skills they need to persevere and grow as a performer. Jillian looks forward the many unbelievable adventures and opportunities that lie ahead and is prepared to overcome any obstacles with incredible energy and vigour.
